The opening of the Vietnamese Embassy in Austria is for the promotion of the relations of friendship and cooperation in all fields between the two countries, for the protection the national interests and the legal personal interests of Vietnamese citizens in Austria, for the support of the Vietnamese community in Austria to better integrate into the Austrian society and at the same time strengthen their bond to their motherland –Viet Nam and preserve their national cultural identity.

For Vietnamese living in Austria, the Embassy aim to provide them with the best consular services, encourage them to keep their Vietnamese identity and culture and help them to have updated information about their home land. They are also assisting the citizens while doing business, visiting or studying in Austria.

Vietnam visa for Australian citizens

There are two ways for Australian to get Vietnam Visa.
The first way is sourcing at Vietnam Embassy in Australia which is located at   6 Timbarra Crescent, O'Malley, ACT, 2606, Australia. It would be better if Australia citizens could contact the Embassy before coming there to apply for Vietnam visa. In case Australian passport holders reside in another country where there is Vietnam Embassy/Consulate, they can still request visa via this embassy.


The second way to get Vietnam visa for Australian passport holders is getting Vietnam visa approval by Vietnam Immigration Department of http://evietnamvisa.org/. This way is time-saving and more convenient, especially for those Australian who enter Vietnam by airway.


To apply for Vietnam visa approval, Australian passport holders just need to submit the online visa application, then make payment for the visa approval fee. Two business days after the completion of your payment, your visa approval letter is issued and sent to you.


Notice: in case Australian citizens wish to get their visa urgently, they can request urgent or super-urgent service.


When boarding on flight to Vietnam, Australian passport holders are required to present this visa approval letter. Similarly, the Immigration officers at Vietnam airport stamp visa for Australian people only when they see the presentation of this letter of approval.

How to apply for Vietnam visa in Australia

Every Australian passport holder must apply for a visa prior to their travel in order to enter Vietnam. Fortunately, it is much easier these days for Australia citizens to apply for visa to Vietnam as there are two different ways available to go about this matter:
Applying for visa at Vietnam Embassy (traditional way, visa picked up at Vietnam Embassies) and,

Apply for Visa on arrival with http://evietnamvisa.org/ (visa picked up at Vietnam International Airports).

In order to get visa to Vietnam, you may choose one of the two options above. Please keep in mind that these two options are quite different in terms of application procedure and applicable applicants.

Travelers should note that while visa on arrival is more convenient and less time-consuming, it is applicable for those who travel to Vietnam by air only. So, if you plan to travel to Vietnam by land or sea, you should apply for a visa at the nearest Vietnam embassy.

The cost for Vietnam visa on arrival includes:
